United States. Dry ice is a gentle medium and in some applications it is not successful at removing paint with just dry ice alone. Depending on the type of paint and primer, even aggressive dry ice blasting can be too slow or too gentle. Traditional methods for removing paint and other types of surface contaminants, such as corrosion and paint, are effective but have negative side effects that can become costly and add time to projects.
Water sandblasting is particularly suitable for preparing substrates or for fast, simple and efficient paint stripping. The advantage of water sandblasting is that it only needs about half the pressure of water blasting alone for an equivalent, if not better, result. In water sandblasting, the surface is cleaned using tiny, accelerated particles. Sensitive surfaces should generally not be treated with water sandblasting.
